Mis - en- scene

      In the first eight minutes of Stranger Things, the costume, lighting, and setting all work together to create a strong atmosphere and give the audience clues about the story. The boys wear typical 1980s clothes like jumpers, jeans, and puffer jackets, which shows  that the show is set in the past and suggests a feeling of childhood, normal life, and nostalgia, helping the audience connect with them as regular kids. The lighting in the Hawkins lab is dark, with flickering lights and shadows, which shows (denotation) that something is wrong and gives the audience a creepy, tense feeling (connotation), warning us that danger is near. The setting switches between the scary lab and the boys' cosy basement. The lab shows (denotation) a cold, secretive place, while the basement shows a warm, safe space where the boys are just having fun. This contrast  tells the audience that the normal world is about to be disturbed by something strange and dangerous. The producer succesfully showcases the element of fear and curiousity to his  reader.

Denotation :Put them in clothes that aren't normally worn today and in a scarce setting Connotation: The setting is within late 1800s and early 1900s.
Stranger Things	Denotation: I can see 3 children in oversised clothes and men in suits Connotation: I think that the children are in danger as they're clothes look old	Denotation: i can see a grey sky Connotation :I think that this means they're is uncertaincy going on within the scene.	Denotation : The characters stand still at certain moments within the scene Connotation: This means that they are scared for what is going to happen next.	Denotation: Have small undeveloped pedal bikes and peddle fast, they are wearing very baggy clothes Connotation:I think this means it set within the late 80s.
Nike	Denotation : I can see a group of people in nike branded clothing Connotation: I think that it is because the brand is nike and to further promote it.	Denotation: I can see them all in a city and stadiums. Connotation : I think it is to show they can do anything they want and go from a underfunded place within cities to stadiums.	Denotation : The characters jump in the air Connotation : It is to show they can do anything	Denotation wearing nike branded clothes to show they're apart of nike, Connotation : To show nike helped them.
