to show that the national health surface wants its workforce to reflect and represent the diverse backgrounds, cultures, and communities of the people it cares for, encouraging viewers to see themselves as part of the NHS.



5) Why have the producers chosen celebrities to feature in the advert? Give an example of three well-known people who appear in the advert and why they are famous - make sure you write their names and spell them accurately.


Well-known figures help audiences feel inspired and show that the NHS represents people from many different backgrounds 

  • lady league is an UK grime artist who performs the rap in the advert and is the central focus. She was used because she connects strongly with young audiences and youth culture
  • Nicola adam’s  is a double olympic gold -medal boxer and was featured as an inspirational role model 
  • Ade adepitan was a tv presenter and paralympic wheelchair basketball player to show disability and achievement

  • It’s to show that not a lot of bame people are going to donate blood and it’s very scarce



7) How does the advert match the key conventions of a typical urban music

  • As it shows estates which is typically shown in urban music aswell as the fast paced editing to show its upbeat and not slow showing the younger generation listen more.

8) How does the advert subvert stereotypes? Give three examples (e.g. ethnicity, masculinity, femininity, age, class, disability/ability etc.) 
It shows a disabled man with a basketball
It presents black and young people in a positive limelight which isn’t usually shown 
challenges gender stereotypes with women being rappers, doctors etc
9) How does the advert reinforce certain stereotypes? Could there be an oppositional reading where some audiences would find this advert offensive or reinforcing negative stereotypes?
It reinforces the stereotype of estates , grime music etc being known for just black people.

10) Choose one key moment from the advert and write an analysis of the connotations of camera shots and mise-en-scene (CLAMPS).
They used a medium close up camera shot which creates a sense of connection with the audience and shows her as confident . The use of mis-en scene is the location as the street environment creates an urban feeling towards the music video and creates authenticity for the audience
