In the 1950s , was presentend as submissive, very stupid and dependent on men . On top of this, we often see them in very sterotypical scenarios often in a coooking robe and glammed up which further shows the only thing they had to do within the day was attend to their husbands, cook and clean.

Using a contreversional phrase asweell as the comic book font appeals to people more and wonder what the topic is about.

4) Analyse the mise-en-scene in the advert (CLAMPS): how is costume, make-up and placement of the model used to suggest women's role in society?
The use of makeup shows that the average womens role was only to look nice and fit at all times aswell as placing her hanging up washing shows us further that is whats expected of her with nothing more to give to society.

It's to give the consumer of what the product is like.

6) What are the connotations of the chosen colours in this advert - red, white and blue?
The colouyr white is usually used to show that the person/product is pure, red  can show sacrifice to show that she sacrificed her life away and dreams to be a housewife and blue can say secretely underneath she yearns justice.

7) How does the anchorage text use persuasive language to encourage the audience to buy the product? Give examples.
He uses persuasive language as how can white get brighter , this appeals to the customers curiosity which makes them more likely to buy the product.

8) What representation of women can be found in this OMO advert? Make specific reference to the advert and discuss stereotypes.
We only see women being shown as submissive and it plays on the outdated strerotype all they are needed for is cleaning and cooking.

9) What is the preferred reading for this advert - what did the producers of the advert want the audience to think in 1955?
The producers of the advert wanted the audience to think that their product is the best one for cleaning and they play into sterotypes to show it.
